Wanted to be able to run my 3 ton central ac in my house with a generator during power outages. Before the soft start kit was installed, the inrush amperage on my ac condenser unit was 86 amps. After installing the soft start kit, it reduced my inrush to 33 amps. Had to hook up my generator the other day due to a power outage and the heat index was over 100° with crazy humidity. My generator has 10K peak watts and 8K running watts. Once my ac kicked on, it didn’t even bog down the generator. Would’ve never been possible without the soft start kit.
